I had an idea to write down everything I do to stay sane and find peace while connecting with nature. I call it cheap thrills, and I recommend trying these things out if you have never done it before. To start, watching the sunrise is one of the best things to do.
This program needs some preparation. It depends on where you live and how well you know the place. I’m fortunate to live close to the sea. So my friend and I chose the beach to watch how the sun rose.
Was it hard to get up early and bike in the dark? Well, yes. Getting up before the sun was a bit uncomfortable, and that’s how I knew it would be awesome. Biking in the dark is fine. That’s what we do in the winter every day in Denmark. But biking alone was a different story.
The view was stunning from the beach. I went to meet my friend at the pier. We had our winter coats on; that cold it was. The waves were forceful and hit hard on the pier. The weather was cold and windy, and I thought the day would stay just as miserable as I felt at that moment. But when the sun came up, it changed everything — a little ray of light.
The sky began to shine. The future looked brighter. Everything is covered in purple, with an orange blur in places. The sun turned the cold, windy morning into a warm spring day. The turn was slow and gentle. I closed my eyes and felt how the sun warms my face. Surely my legs were freezing, but that’s how progress works. Everything starts in your head, and the rest of your body follows. You just have to be patient. The sun warms your whole body over time. I believe that Sunrise gave me a lesson to learn. All you have to do is listen. I would never watch the sunrise if I had a job. Beauty is everywhere.
To be more practical, pack some breakfast and check when and where the sun rises. You don’t need a sea to see a spectacular sunrise.
One last tip: Take a photo of it.
I usually don’t take pictures. You know, so later I can regret it. Also, I want to make sure to enjoy every second of the moment. I prefer to enjoy little things and moments. In this case, I would highly recommend taking a picture. Strange, but whenever I check on this photo of the sunrise, it instantly warms my heart. Here is mine until you have yours.
