Robin Robin — Christmas Magic in a Movie

Robin Robin — Christmas Magic in a Movie

If you are looking for a great, sweet, and short animated film to start your Christmas with, look no more! I have seen plenty of animated movies, thanks to my kids, but this one is the best so far. Get ready for thirty-two minutes of magic.

Your Weakness Might Become Your Strength!

A mouse family adopts a bird. Crazy, right? The dialogue and music are humorous and brilliant. The story is uplifting. Well, after this tough year, I definitely needed to see this masterpiece.

So, Robin thinks that since she was raised by a mouse family, she is also a mouse, hence good at sneaking. She is actually getting in trouble because she is not being careful enough. But she tries hard all the time. One day, she tries to help her family when she befriends a Magpie. Magpie is a materialistic character who thinks that “things make you happy” but is still loveable. Robin never learned how to fly until that point because she wanted to fit in at all costs.

The big change happens when Robin and her family hit rock bottom.
That’s why I love this short animation so much! Robin discovers her true power. When she finally embraces herself, she not only learns how to fly but also feels whole. She is a bird with a mouse family who is bad at sneaking but good at something else.

Because of the length, even kids can easily digest. I highly recommend it for adults and children, too. And oh my, Gillian Anderson as a cat is amazing. Her voice is so enjoyable.

Robin Robin is from 2021, but the Netflix algorithm has never offered me this before. I’m a big fan of high-quality stop-motion films and also movies by Studio Ghibli. It makes a difference, and I appreciate it more when you know that people put much effort into their work. Netflix is great because you don’t have to compromise on good quality. You just have to choose carefully.

Robin Robin is actually a stop-motion animated musical short film produced by Aardman Animations, created and directed by Dan Ojari and Mikey Please, and written by Ojari, Please, and Sam Morrison.

More about the casting, music, production, filming, nominations, and all in here.

The animals were made using the needle felting technique. If you ever tried that, you know how hard it is to make a good-looking mouse, cat, or whatever. Okay, I admit I am pretty clumsy. Maybe it’s just me.

Thank you for reading!
