If You Think You Know Business, You Are Wrong!
People ask me all the time: Noémi, how do you know so much about business?
Is that twenty years’ worth of knowledge of making sales or the Business School I went to? It can be both.
I mean, people could ask me that question.
And I would refer my mentor, Michael G. Scott. That twenty years in sales of wisdom is not mine.
What have I learned from the World's Best Boss?
Everything and beyond! I had the luck to attend the Michael Scott School of Business Business School.
Here is your recipe to do business.
Ten Rules of Business
Number 1: You need to play to win. But you also have to win to play.
Number 2: Adapt. React. Re-adapt. Act.
Number 3: Hah, I bet you want to know everything, but I keep this secret for me.
Number 4: In business, image is everything — Andre Agassi.
Number 5: Safety first. Don’t burn the building down. That’s a no brainer. He means to care about the person, not the employee.
Number 6: Be in the business because of the people. You know, to make friends.
Number 7: Brainstorm your problems and ideas with your team — all of the problems with everyone, even personal ones. Hah! Especially personal problems.
Number 8: Have inside jokes, share memories, and don’t be afraid to have fun at work.
Number 9: “Sometimes you just have to be the boss of dancing.”
Take this literally. Everyone needs serotonin. If you don’t like to dance, any sport will do.
Finally, the last one:
“Don’t ever, for any reason, do anything for anyone, for any reason, ever, no matter what. No matter where. Or who, or who you are with, or where you are going or… or where you’ve been ever. For any reason, whatsoever.”
Wow, indeed!
