Hell Is On Earth, And I Can Prove It!
I gathered some evidence about the theory that Earth is actually Hell.
As I’m getting older, I’m also getting wiser. Do you want a proof? Look, instead of torturing my body, I realised it is much more fun to torture my mind and soul. How to do it? Thinking, it’s almost always leads to disaster. I’ve seen Good Omens 2 and one and a half seasons of The Good Place.
I’m not sure if I just share what I’ve seen or what I understood from it, but I have to write it down anyway.
Hypnagogia
After a long day, I almost fell asleep when I hit hypnagogia. I wrote about that here.
In short, in the hypnagogic state, you get a lot of good ideas, but since your body is already asleep, you have no energy to wake up. You need something that makes you move to wake up and document your thoughts.
For Dalí, it was a sharp noise when his metal spoon hit the floor. To me, it was my loud inner voice that told me not to let go of this mad idea.
When I got to the conclusion, I just wrote down everything in my notebook in the dark and went back to sleep.
It’s difficult to read those notes, but I think I got it.
Here is the theory: Life on Earth is Hell
You might think I exaggerate, but let me prove it.
First, let’s define what is Hell.
Wikipedia: … hell is a location or state in the afterlife in which souls are subjected to punitive suffering, most often through torture, as eternal punishment after death.
Well, starvation is the epitome of punitive suffering in my book. And writing the 100th cover letter is also the epitome of suffering. I know these two are incomparable, but one leads to the other.
Let’s see what the different religions say about hell.
In Christian theology, Hell is the place or state into which, by God’s definitive judgment, unrepentant sinners pass in the general judgment.
Jewish background, Sheol was thought of as a place situated below the ground (cf. Ezek. 31:15), a place of darkness, silence, and forgetfulness.
In Islam, Jahannam is the place of punishment for unbelievers and other evildoers in the afterlife or hell.
In historic Protestant traditions, hell is the place created by God for the punishment of the devil and fallen angels (cf. Matthew 25:41) and those whose names are not written in the Book of Life (cf. Revelation 20:15). It is the final destiny of every person who does not receive salvation, where they will be punished for their sins.
Naraka is a term in Buddhist cosmology usually referred to in English as “hell” or “purgatory.” A Naraka differs from one concept of hell in Christianity in two respects: firstly, beings are not sent to Naraka as the result of a divine judgment or punishment; and secondly, the length of a being’s stay in a Naraka is not eternal, though it is usually incomprehensibly long.
So, hell is a state but most likely a place where you suffer a lot.
It seems like many religions thought through hell. They added layers and differentiated. I would say they used ethical and moral philosophy because those who kill a mother or a father will end up in the roughest hell possible (Avici). So, if you kill someone with no kids, it’s not as bad if you kill someone with kids — very interesting.
Based on my limited knowledge of religions and the different definitions of hell, I think the Buddhist view could best support the theory.
So, let’s continue on that. Life on Earth is hell because if you die without gaining enlightenment, you just start a new life in a new body.
In other words, you suck, and you go to hell, the same place where you are right now. So Earth is the worst place where you can go. You don’t go to hell because you are already there. If you do something terrible and die, you should go elsewhere (to hell), but since Earth is hell, you just start again.
Do I make sense?
Anyone?
What are the proofs?
1. There is no light without darkness; therefore, there is no good without evil.
That’s why we start as children. As a child, people take care of you. We usually experience love, so it hurts more if it’s not there later. We experience belonging to someone, so it hurts more when we feel lonely. The good and the bad are balanced, but as you grow up, the balance will tip. It’s like when you are in your early twenties, and you go out with your friends, have fun, and you end up sleeping on a couch, and the next day, you feel a bit down and tired, but you get over it eventually. Try that in your thirties. You will need to sleep a lot, and your back will hurt for days if not weeks.
2. If life on earth is hell, then loving someone is a punishment.
Heartbreaks are tough. Every second song is about it, to remind us. Everyone you love will be dead one day. Loving someone unconditionally is the best but also the most dangerous. Loving hurt.
3. Psychopaths rule the world
What kind of people would enjoy hell the most? Those without empathy towards others, those who love to see others suffer, in one word: the psychopaths. What kind of people are celebrated these days? The inventors? Doctors? Those who are trying to save the world? Nope. The celebrities, those who take advantage of people, politicians, those who can lie whenever and whoever. Don’t believe me? Also, if you click on links, check this. This is my very first English article about an event. Brian Klaas talks about how we always choose the wrong leaders.
In my notebook, I also found things like:
- Positivity is denial
- Existential crisis is enlightening
- Feeling lost and vulnerable is what we are meant to feel
- The prosperous years at the end of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century were a big denial stage. We exploit nature, and now we suffer from the consequences, aka climate change. The climate change will set us back to reality, which is hell.
Oh, boy! I’m not gonna go into that. All this doesn’t sound comforting to my soul. So, for those who feel sad or disappointed after reading me, I say let’s fight against hell!
Fight with ignorance and fight with hope.
Believe and hope that everything’s going to be all right.
We won’t suffer!
We will enjoy every minute of hell.
Thanks for reading, and please feel free to comment. I’m curious about your opinion.
