Bitconned — Justice is Dead and No One Cares!

If you haven't heard about this crime documentary, let me wrap up what Bitconned is about. Bitconned tells a story of how three men exploited the crypto market in the late 2010s. Stealing, lying, silencing people, and everything that comes with running a scam.

The documentary goes into detail about Ray Trapani's personal life and motivation. He is narrating the documentary himself, enjoying the spotlight and caring nothing about what a shameful rat he is.

It feels like Storkel caught up in Ray's charm and tried to create an antihero from Ray instead of telling the story from the journalist's perspective. I'd rather see that one. I know a Netflix documentary has to be entertaining but I still miss Sharma's and Farkas' points of view.

As every scam has its end, this one ended without justice.

Raymond Ray Trapani is a free man, his business partners were imprisoned.

The one who unwrapped the story was Nathaniel Popper and here is his article from The New York Times.

This story is also about why we should not trust automation without double-checking them. The same applies to AI.

It's basically a scammer's guide.

So before you invest in cryptocurrency please watch this documentary. And take notes, scammers are everywhere.

Fake It Till You Make It

Ah, what an advice. It is not my style, but now is evident where it leads.

This advice not only makes my blood boil, but it makes me question the future of our society.

All the Smerdyakovs are out there, living their best lives!

They are laughing at our faces because, to them, everything is possible!

What do we teach to our kids when we let criminals roam free?

This Netflix crime documentary showcases how criminals run the world.

Do you think there is a difference between a politician, a Wall Street banker, and a petty scammer? Aren’t they all the same?

But why to put a scammer in the middle?

Why not the ones who fought for justice?

The Message is Loud and Clear

What message did law enforcement send regarding this case?

Easy: “Commit crimes; no one will care if you got rich enough.”

Raymond Trapani scammed people, and he acted as a criminal, liar, and cheater. Ruined lives and families caused pain and struggle. Not to mention that he was on drugs the whole time.

He dares to laugh at people who work 9 to 5 to make an honest living and still can’t buy an apartment.

Unanswered Questions

How is he able to buy a house? Where is the money coming from?

Why did no one stop him from committing fraud again?

Why is he not in prison?

Why not teach kids to be criminals?

Let’s embrace hell on Earth and punish the ones with spines. Learn from the bright ones, right?

Here are some quotes from the documentary straight from Raymond "Ray" Trapani:

“Ever since I was a kid, I always wanted to be a criminal,”

“My entrepreneurial spirit won’t get dimmed down by my 12 felonies.”
“ It’s always been very hard to find empathy and these feelings towards people that I’ve never really met. I’ve always been like that.”
“No time, bitch! Haha!”

This last quote is from the time he found out he didn’t have to go to jail.

Fun Fact

Raymond Trapani wrote a book, and he would love to see a movie adaptation of it. Yeah, more screen time for criminals. Celebrate them!

I’d rather see the victims coming out with their stories.

Let’s acknowledge the damage and never praise a criminal again.

Big respect for Nathaniel Popper for unraveling the web of lies.

People like him are the light in this dark age.
