It’s kinda like we are in the phase where we play with the snake. Later, that snake will bite its tail and die.
I just hope we will call it fun to witness.
So, it does not matter if you continue using it or if you protest, AI will fade away. The only thing to remember is not to help the machine distinguish which one was made by a human. Let AI snake eat its own tail.
If you think people started filling the internet with AI content and AI images, wait until you aren’t sure if the person you are exchanging emails with is real or a bot.
It makes me think how awful we are as a species. We trash this planet for profit. We pollute ourselves, we pollute the air, the water, the soil, and even the internet gets its share, we will pollute that too.
So what’s Model Collapse?
Model Collapse is a phenomenon where machine learning models gradually degrade due to errors coming from uncurated training on the outputs of another model, including prior versions of themselves.
Such outputs are known as synthetic data.
Using synthetic data as training data can lead to issues with the quality and reliability of the trained model. Model collapse occurs for three main reasons:
a; functional approximation errors
b; sampling errors
c; learning errors
Digital Inbreeding
Digital Inbreeding is when AI-generated content is used for training future AIs. It will lead to a decline in quality, diversity, and creativity, akin to the effects of inbreeding.
Information Pollution
Information pollution is the contamination of an information supply with irrelevant, redundant, unsolicited, hampering, and low-value information. It’s like misinformation, junk e-mail, and media violence.
The spread of useless and undesirable information can have a detrimental effect on human activities. It is considered to be an adverse effect of the information revolution
